Modeling and mentoring The Small Blessings program is not built on “things”, but rather is a hands-on approach where activities are created either by the children themselves or the teachers. Every moment is seen as a teaching and learning opportunity, with staff serving as role models to promote and reinforce positive values and behavior.
Training/Knowledge Transfer: Through professional mentoring, the leadership team and staff at Small Blessings aim to assist individuals and organizations/agencies to become better equipped for childcare and development.
There have been many certificates of recognition over the years, including certificates in recognition of work with School District 2 on Youth Apprenticeship programs and Work Experience Programs.
Small Blessings has also been recognized by the UNB Faculty of Nursing for their contribution to their students in nursing practice, to seniors, and for their participation in the nation-wide study, “You bet I care!”
Consultation & Advice: At the request of government officials, senior management at Small Blessings have been actively involved in contributing to provincial policy development for the childcare industry, including development of a province-wide curriculum. As well, management are often called upon for consultation and advice from existing child care and learning centres, as well as from individuals considering the start-up of new operations.
