The community involvement component of the Small Blessings program teaches children to give back to their community starting at a young age. They learn that everyone can contribute to the community, including the littlest ones. This is very apparent when the children visit Camden Terrace and Lakeview Manor several times each year and are welcomed by the seniors waiting to interact with them.

Small Blessings programming fosters parent-children partnership and community giving by promoting participation in several specific activities, including:
*Weekly donations to the food bank *Supporting the annual Literacy Festival *20+ years of fund-raising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Hop-a-Thon® *Providing Christmas gifts to children of families in need via the Angel Tag initiative *Donating school supplies at the beginning of the school year in collaboration with The Salvation Army Moncton Community and Family Services The children have also had the opportunity to participate in the City’s Goodwill Garden and have learned the basics of gardening while interacting with seniors and other adults. |
